On a fine sunny day Mat Bingham called at Anderton Nature Park (67M SJ651751) where there were abundant Common Darter and Migrant Hawker with several Southern Hawker along the Weaver. He also saw three Brown Hawker.

21.9.08
A day of sunny skies and Mel Bellingham headed for Black Lake in Delamere Forest (57F SJ537709) where there were a few Southern Hawker, Common Darter and rather more Black Darter. There were still Common Darter flying at Leasowe Common (29K SJ249912) when Caleb Lewis visited.

The fine weather also brought out plenty of Common Darter at Stapeley Water Gardens (65Q SJ666513) with a single ovipositing Brown Hawker reports Bob Bradshaw.

On another trip to Vale Royal Locks (67K SJ640705) Mat Bingham found a couple of Blue-tailed Damselfly several Brown Hawker with single Migrant Hawker and Southern Hawker.

Along the Trent and Mersey Canal at Whatcroft (67V SJ685705) Bryan Roberts found several Brown Hawker, and single Migrant Hawker, Ruddy Darter with a late male Banded Demoiselle. Meanwhile Stu Burnet visited the ponds at Handforth (88R SJ870835) where he recorded Southern Hawker, Brown Hawker, Migrant Hawker, Common Darter, Ruddy Darter, Emerald Damselfly and Blue-tailed Damselfly.

14.9.08
Mat Bingham saw a solitary Migrant Hawker at Neumann's Flash (67S SJ666755) and a few Blue-tailed Damselfly at Vale Royal Locks (67K SJ640705). Meanwhile Andy Harmer visited Lindow Moss (88F SJ822804) where there were a few Common Hawker along the ditches and plenty of Common Darter and Black Darter. Andy also reports that a dip with a net yielded lots of Four-spotted Chaser and Large Red Damselfly larvae.

13.9.08
From a pond on Leasowe Common (29K SJ249912) Caleb Lewis reports seeing several Migrant Hawker with single Common Darter and Blue-tailed Damselfly.

6.9.08 and 7.9.08
At Stapeley Water Gardens (65Q SJ666513) Bob Bradshaw found one Southern Hawker ovipositing and the next day saw three Blue-tailed Damselfly emerging.

3.9.08
On a walk in the Dane Valley at Wincle (96S SJ961643) I spotted a pair of Common Darter.
