At a pond in Tattenhall (45Z SJ494592) Andy Harmer found a single female Black-tailed Skimmer today.

Still little about due to the terrible weather. Wicky Nal spotted a male Emperor Dragonfly patrolling the Shropshire Union Canal at Caughall (47A SJ414711). Nearby were a couple of Blue-tailed Damselfly.

From the Weaver at Nantwich (65L SJ648526), Vicky Nall found Beautiful Demoiselle and Banded Demoiselle flying.

At New Ferry Butterfly Park (38L SJ333851) Vicky Nall saw nine Common Blue Damselfly.

At Hockenhull Platts (46S SJ476657) Sue Budd found a few Banded Demoiselle and a couple of Common Blue Damselfly.

At Barnston Dale (28X SJ285840) several Southern Hawker are reported emerging according to Colin Millington. He also found two Four-spotted Chaser at Burton Mere (37B SJ312736).

I made an attempt to find Downy Emerald today along the forest edge by the Whitegate Way (56Z SJ598688). Unfortunately it was too cold and lacking in sun for any to be flying and al that was visible were a couple of Four-spotted Chaser and plenty of Common Blue Damselfly and Azure Damselfly. Elsewhere, Martin Pennell went out and about to Wybunbury Brook (74E SJ703497) where he found Beautiful Demoiselle. Moving on to Marbury Big Mere (54M SJ557457) there were Four-spotted Chaser, Banded Demoiselle, Large Red Damselfly, Common Blue Damselfly, Red-eyed Damselfly, Blue-tailed Damselfly, Azure Damselfly, and Variable Damselfly. Next he went to Sound Common (64E SJ619480) where he saw Four-spotted Chaser, Banded Demoiselle, Red-eyed Damselfly, and Azure Damselfly.

Also reported by Colin Millington was the emergence of Southern Hawker at a Barnston Dale (28X SJ285840) pond

Peter Shaw reports 7 male and a female Hairy Dragonfly on the Weaver at Vale Royal (66P SJ643698) along with plenty of Banded Demoiselle, Red-eyed Damselfly, Blue-tailed Damselfly, and Azure Damselfly.
