At Vale Royal Locks (66P SJ643698), Mat Bingham found several Brown Hawker and Migrant Hawker. Meanwhile at Alderley Edge (87N SJ853774), Chris Storey reports Blue-tailed Damselfly, Azure Damselfly, Southern Hawker, Brown Hawker, and Common Darter.

Today at Aston-by-Budworth (67U SJ667792) Stu Burnet found several Brown Hawker and Common Darter. At Tatton Park (78K SJ755810) Chris Storey found Banded Demoiselle, Common Blue Damselfly, and Brown Hawker.

Flying at the pond at Moorside, Higher Disley (98W SJ984822) were Brown Hawker, Azure Damselfly, and Emerald Damselfly, reports Ray Scally. There were several Black Darter at Lindow Moss (88F SJ822804) when Chris Storey called.

At the Millennium Pond on Mudhurst Lane in Higher Disley (98W SJ981830) Ray Scally found Common Hawker ovipositing, and Brown Hawker, Common Darter, Azure Damselfly, and Large Red Damselfly present.Upland ponds such as this do seem to have the latter species flying until later in the season than those down on the plain.

At Paradise Farm near Church Minshull (66K SJ646607) Stu Burnet found Brown Hawker, Common Darter, and Ruddy Darter. Over at Bosley Locks (96D SJ904668) I saw a single male Brown Hawker.

Paul Brewster was at Vale Royal Locks (66P SJ643698) today and saw plenty of Brown Hawker along with Common Darter, Banded Demoiselle, Red-eyed Damselfly, and Blue-tailed Damselfly.

Louise Sinnott reports several Common Hawker and a couple of Brown Hawker with lots of Black Darter at Blakemere (57K SJ549710). Chris Storey found Brown Hawker and Southern Hawker flying by the Bollin at Quarry Bank Mill (88G SJ831832).

At Macclesfield Riverside Park (97C SJ905753) a female Southern Hawker was flying and feeding in the trees close to the river. At Tatton Park (78K SJ748810), Chris Storey saw Emperor Dragonfly, Brown Hawker, and Common Darter, with Banded Demoiselle, Emerald Damselfly, and Common Blue Damselfly.

Several male Brown Hawker were flying along the Bollin at Macclesfield Riverside Park (97C SJ905753) this morning. Meanwhile at Mudhurst Lane in Higher Disley (98W SJ981830) Ray Scally found Common Hawker emerging and Brown Hawker, Common Darter, Large Red Damselfly, and Azure Damselfly flying.

Chris Storey visited Danes Moss (97A SJ907706) today and found hundreds of Black Darter with five other species comprising Brown Hawker, Southern Hawker, Azure Damselfly, Blue-tailed Damselfly, and
Emerald Damselfly.

A single Banded Demoiselle and a male Brown Hawker were seen at Bosley Locks (96C SJ907656), whilst at Moorside above Disley (98W SJ984822) Richard Gabb saw Brown Hawker, Southern Hawker, Emerald Damselfly, and Azure Damselfly. At Alderley Edge (87N SJ853774) Chris Storey spotted Brown Hawker, Southern Hawker and Common Darter.

Peter Shaw reports that at Vale Royal Locks on the Weaver (66P SJ643698) there were plenty of Migrant Hawker and several Brown Hawker flying. A fairly short distance away at Plumley Nature Reserve (77C SJ709751) Richard Gabb found Brown Hawker,
Migrant Hawker,
Emperor Dragonfly, Black-tailed Skimmer, Common Darter, Banded Demoiselle, Emerald Damselfly, Common Blue Damselfly, and Blue-tailed Damselfly.

From the Gowy at Bridge Trafford (47K SJ444713), Hatty Astle reports Banded Demoiselle flying. Meanwhile, at Risley Moss (69Q SJ666918) Steve Seal added Southern Hawker, Black-tailed Skimmer, and Common Darter to the list of species seen there three days earlier.

It was good to receive details of a visit to the ponds at Handforth (88R SJ870835) from Stu Burnet. Eight species were present and these were Emperor Dragonfly, Brown Hawker, Migrant Hawker, Common Darter, Emerald Damselfly, Common Blue Damselfly, Blue-tailed Damselfly, and Azure Damselfly.

At Risley Moss (69Q SJ666918) today Steve Seal found Emperor Dragonfly, Brown Hawker, Migrant Hawker, Black Darter and Emerald Damselfly.
