At Vale Royal Vale Royal (67K SJ640705) Paul Hill saw a single Migrant Hawker today.

Down to Anderton Nature Park (67M SJ651751) in a sunny period after heavy rain and I found several Migrant Hawker and plenty of Common Darter.

At Vale Royal Locks (67K SJ640705) on the Weaver Mat Bingham found a couple of Migrant Hawker and three Blue-tailed Damselfly.

I took a walk around ponds at Tatton Park (78K SJ754819) on a chilly day with some sunshine. At the watersplash there was a male Common Hawker and several Common Darter and Blue-tailed Damselfly with a single male Common Blue Damselfly. Earlier at High Legh (78F SJ704834) a Migrant Hawker was seen feeding around the trees.

There were seven species flying at Anderton Nature Park (67M SJ651751) today reports Paul Hill. He found Southern Hawker, Brown Hawker and Migrant Hawker with Emperor Dragonfly, Common Darter, Ruddy Darter and Blue-tailed Damselfly.

Bryan Roberts visited the central Cheshire mosses today and saw a couple of Black Darter at Shemmy Moss (56Z SJ595688) with plenty of Common Darter and a single Southern Hawker. At nearby Great Midgel Moss (57F SJ533714) there were Black Darter and Common Darter. Meanwhile Pete Leicester reports plenty of Common Darter and a few Migrant Hawker on the River Weaver at Anderton Nature Park (67M SJ651751).

A sunny afternoon at Danes Moss (97A SJ908705) where, apart from a couple of lizards, there were abundant Black Darter and also a male Brown Hawker with a couple of male and one female Common Hawker.

Carl Smethurst reports Common Darter flying at Risley Moss (69Q SJ666918). Down beyond Crewe at Gorsty Hall (75F SJ736508) Alan Wraithmell found two male and one female Banded Demoiselle with Migrant Hawker and Brown Hawker.

On the fishing ponds at Anderton (67M SJ651752) Pete Leicester saw Brown Hawker, Southern Hawker, Common Darter and Blue-tailed Damselfly. There were also Migrant Hawker nearby. Moving on to Neumann's Flash (67S SJ664754) he found lots of Brown Hawker and Common Darter with a few more Migrant Hawker.

A very late male Banded Demoiselle was seen flying along the Shropshire Union Canal at Tiverton (56K SJ548602) by Barry Shaw.

A male Common Darter was flying at Bosley Locks (96C SJ906657) on the Macclesfield Canal this afternoon. Meanwhile Alan Redley visited Billinge Green Flash (67V SJ682713) where there were plenty of Migrant Hawker and an ovipositing Brown Hawker.

Mat Bingham visited Vale Royal Locks (67K SJ640705) on the Weaver today and found a couple of Migrant Hawker with a single Brown Hawker and a rather battered female Banded Demoiselle.

Cheshire images being in short supply these Common Hawkers are at Aushaw Moss, Lancashire 3-9-07.
