The IWPS Waterways Walks offer a splendid opportunity to look at Britain's waterways network.  These ambles are very informal and will be enjoyed by anyone with an interest in our waterway heritage

Times of Walks
We usually start around 10.00 am and aim to finish at 4.00 pm, the length of the walk being about 6-8 miles.  All walks are on Saturdays unless otherwise stated.

Clothing
Although towpaths offer easy walking, they can be muddy and uneven. We therefore recommend that stout boots or walking shoes are worn.  Similarly, the unpredictability of the British weather makes the carrying of waterproof clothing advisable.

Midday Break
We aim to take lunch at midday, hopefully in the vicinity of a pub, but as this is not always possible a packed lunch should be brought.

Transport Arrangements
Transport back to the start is normally by private cars which we have placed previously, but if public transport is convenient we may use it.

Notice of Forthcoming Events
A broadsheet giving full details of the next walk is sent to everyone on the mailing list two weeks before it takes place.

Important
Those intending to walk must confirm with the leader on the previous evening
