A rare survivor of the Hoffmann type kiln used for burning lime. This example was built in 1899 and operated until 1914. It has been suggested that the extension to the chimney was an attempt to reduce smoke problems affecting local residents. Now located in the Llanymynech heritage area and open to public inspection.
