The two pot limekiln at Newbridge was built in 1801 by the Tamar Manure Navigation Co at the upstream limit of navigation for shippping on the Tamar. It is thought that the completion of this kiln caused a decline in the fortunes of the two kilns slightly downstream at Netstakes. The site is now badly overgrown.
