1963 built GJ class 0-6-0T No.1018 was the works shunter. We were advised that one of the headboards stated 'Make a contribution to the modernisation of China'. The small works was very busy overhauling locomotives from industrial sites. There were 14 locomotives undergoing treatment plus this one. |

| SYs Nos.0680 and 0997 with overhaul just completed are shunted into the sidings ready for collection. |

| SY No.1556 undergoing steam testing. The main steam pipes were not connected to the cylinders and the exercise appeared to be about checking the operation of the regulator. It was certainly spectacular. |
