Harbin Depot

12th October 1992

QJ No.679 on the turntable at Harbin Depot. This locomotive was one of the oldest members of this class seen in action on this trip. Diesels were making inroads to the traffic in the Harbin area but there was still plenty of steam to be seen.

QJ No.889 stands with No.2143 for servicing.

The crew of QJ No.2143 preparing for coaling in Harbin depot yard.

QJs Nos. 2991 and 3385 show the high standards of cleanliness aplied to some locomotives at the depot. 2991 is particularly fine with with slogans and a brass lettering and Chinarail symbol at front.

The shedmaster and some of his staff outside the semi-roundhouse. We were made extremely welcome at this busy depot.
