Hailar Depot

14th October 1992

Hailar, on the edge of the Mongolian Plain had a fine locomotive shed built in the semi roundhouse style. There were 13 QJ class and 2 JS class locomotives there on the morning of our visit. Here QJ No.2712 is on the typical electric turntable found in most shed yards.

Inside the shed QJ No.3405 was undergoing maintenance.

An atmospheric view of QJ No.3405 receiving attention in Hailar shed.

QJ No.2884 is turned ready for an eastbound freight duty.
